The Meredith Corporation trip was very interesting for me. First off, I never really paid any attention to the corporation until John Fennell and Jan brought it up. I thought it would be a good idea to visit because it might be another option as a place to work after graduation.
After visiting, I am a little skeptical as to whether I could really work there or not. Yes, it's just like something at Hearst, however I feel that maybe the Meredith Corporation's SIMs are a little overboard. Does one corporation really need 26 different gardening magazines? It seems a bit extreme to me.
I did learn that the corporation has purchased a magazine I am very fond of: "Ready Made." When I asked if there would be any staff swapping I was relieved to find that although the corporation had bought it out "Ready Made" would stay the same.
I probably will still apply for positions at Meredith because I am open to new and old ideas/opinions. I just don't know how long I could stay there!
