You Can't Miss: blog

This week's Noisy Decent Graphics discussion is about a quote that was posted about graphics. Mike Dempsey (CDT) said "Graphics has hit a watershed, not knowing which way to go from here. With all stylistic trends plundered, is there anywhere to go but backwards?"

I kind of agree with this in certain ways, but at the same time this quote really bothers me. I can't imagine a world where design doesn't seem innovative or stylistic. I guess since I have grown up in a time where I get so see so many styles and eras of design that it just scares me when people say that all the ideas stylistically have been done.

Do you agree with this? I don't really know. It's funny because I say this sometimes about movies and other things, however I've never really thought about it with art and design.
